On March 20 in Kazan, Russia the Chronos concerto by the composer Anton Tanonov had its premiere
performance.

Concerto for organ and orchestra closed the V International Organ Festival. The piece was performed by
Evgeniya Krivitskaya and the State academic symphony orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Here’s how the author himself describes his creation:

“The Chronos concerto is a soundtrack for the watch collections by Russian master, exploring the
soundscapes hidden within a watch. Why did I choose organ to embody this imagery? The keys of an
organ make a distinctive clicking sound when pressed, very percussive and similar to the sound a clock
hand makes”.

The fifth and final part of the concerto is dedicated to the Kolobok watch from Konstantin Chaykin’s
Wristmons collection. “Orchestral music is one of the main sources of inspiration for me – shares the
master. – Today, most well-known contemporary neoclassical composers are from the West. It was a
huge and pleasant surprise to hear the creations of Russian composers during the festival. Going
forward I most definitely will follow their new endeavors closely.

Surprisingly, this time the watchmaking art became an inspiration for music. At the intersection of
different artforms truly unique masterpieces emerge, expanding the familiar limits both for the author
and for the audience. My deepest gratitude to Anton Tanonov for this wonderful experience and to the
orchestra for a brilliant performance. Hearing this music left one of the strongest impressions on me in
recent times!”.
